Brian Black of Maywood

Brian Black - Former Maywood Police Deputy Chief and Christian Leader

In 1997, Brian Black began his career in law enforcement as a police officer with the Village of Maywood. After 15 years in law enforcement, Brian Black retired from the Maywood police force as deputy chief of police and began a career in ministry.

In 2013, Mr. Black became the COO for New Life Community Ministries, where he helped oversee the organization's daycare, private school, and after-school food program for 5 years. He changed jobs when The Salvation Army, Metropolitan Division-Hope Strong Ministries, hired him in 2018. As its fatherhood-in-action facilitator, he assisted in organizing activities such as a 40-hour parenting and relationship module. This role also involved working with financial education and employment readiness service providers in developing care continuity for clients.

In 2019, Mr. Black became the CEO of BMB270 Company, LLC. In this position, he develops and implements the company’s strategic plan and supervises company operations and employees.

Over the years, Mr. Black has attended programs in business, criminal justice, and ministry. He holds an AAS in criminal justice administration from Triton College, a BBA in business administration, and an MBA in public administration. His ministry credentials include a certificate of ordination from JAM Outreach Ministries, New Life Community Ministries, and The House That Love Built Ministries. He also earned a diploma from the Living Word Bible Training Center.

He served as a community liaison between the police department and Maywood residents for 10 years. He has also been a member of the FMA Ministerial Alliance for six years.
